Documentation of vaccination or a negative test result required to access public premises continues in Nuuk

If you want to visit for instance a restaurant, the cinema, a fitness center, or a museum in Nuuk you must be fully vaccinated or have a negative result from a PCR-test taken within the last 48 hours. This rule no longer applies to Sisimiut from the 1st of October 2021.

The rules in Nuuk apply from the 1st of October to the 31st of October 2021.

You are only allowed access to the following places, if you are fully vaccinated or have a negative result from a PCR-test taken within the last 48 hours:

  • Restaurants, bars, night clubs etc.
  • Cultural institutions such as movie theaters, museums etc.
  • Community centers
  • Libraries
  • Indoor and outdoor sport facilities such as sport halls, gyms, soccer fields, swimming pools etc.
  • Hairdressers, masseurs, beauty salons etc.

If you are not fully vaccinated, you can still access the following places without a negative test result:

  • Shops
  • Post Offices
  • Airports
  • Service desks e.g. at public authorities
  • Public transportation waiting areas
  • Places where you carry out your professional work

The rules do not apply to schools, daycare institutions, workplaces, and public transportation.

You must remember

In regard to this announcement, you are considered fully vaccinated immediately after your last dose of vaccine. 

You can document your vaccination status with a corona passport through the phone app, the pieces of paper handed out to you during your vaccination or a vaccination certificate from the health department.

If you have previously been infected with COVID-19, you can use a positive result from a PCR-test that is between 14 days and 12 weeks old as documentation.

The rules do not apply to children 0-11 years old.

The rules do not apply to people who the National Board of Health recommends not to get vaccinated.

If you are not fully vaccinated and travel from Nuuk to other cities in Greenland, you must still follow the rules that apply in Nuuk. Furthermore, if you are not fully vaccinated, when you arrive at your destination, you are only allowed to visit public premises and locations and participate in public events when you have a negative result from a PCR-test taken on the fifth day after your arrival or after 14 days of quarantine.
