Personal data policy

When you are vaccinated against COVID-19, your COVID-19 vaccination details are registered in your medical record, which is kept by the health authorities. Styrelsen for Sundhed og Forebyggelse (Health and Disease Prevention Authority in Greenland) is the data controller for your medical record.

The information that is registered in connection with your vaccination is:

·         Your civil registration number

·         Your name

·         The date on which you were vaccinated

·         The name of the vaccine manufacturer

·         The batch number of the vaccine

In accordance with the Landstingsforordning (the Parliament of Greenland) executive order on the legal status of patients, §§ 19-21, you have the right to be informed of your vaccination status.

To make documenting and showing your vaccination status in connection with COVID-19 restrictions easy and secure, Styrelsen for Sundhed og Forebyggelse (Health and Disease Prevention Authority in Greenland) has entered into an agreement with Statens Serum Institut (SSI) by which citizens of Greenland can use the Danish corona passport (“Coronapas”) to show and document their vaccination status in connection with coronavirus restrictions that are set by Landstingsforordning (the Parliament of Greenland) executive order on preventative measures against infectious diseases.

Styrelsen for Sundhed og Forebyggelse (Health and Disease Prevention Authority in Greenland) sends the above-named information to SSI in Denmark, so that SSI can forward the information via the corona passport app to your smartphone. You must personally decide whether you want to show the corona passport on your smartphone.

The aim of the agreement is to ensure that when you travel to Denmark, other EU countries, Norway, Iceland or Lichtenstein, you can document your vaccination status, so that you have the same rights that the country’s own citizens have if they are vaccinated.

By downloading and using the Danish corona passport app, you voluntarily give your consent that SSI may store the app and your personal data about you on your smartphone. You can withdraw your consent at any time. You can use the app itself to withdraw your consent or by deleting the app from your smartphone. This is described in more detail in the app.

If you have the Danish corona passport app, you can use the app to document your PCR test, which you must have with you when entering Greenland, and to show your vaccination details to Air Greenland at the airport in Kastrup. The specific requirements relating to entering Greenland are stated elsewhere on this web site.

If you do not wish to use the Danish corona passport app, you must document your PCR test and vaccination details in another way.
